Purplevine IP Group, a leading Chinese intellectual property service provider, has advised TCL, the leading television manufacturer in the world, on its licensing agreement with Via Licensing for its Advanced Audio Codec patent pool.

Purplevine IP Group led the negotiation between TCL and Via Licensing, which resulted in win-win cooperation between the two companies. The agreement will cover all products of TCL, including TVs, smartphones, tablets, home appliances, and other consumer electronics.

With this licensing agreement, TCL gains access to fundamental AAC technologies while saving transaction time compared to bilateral licensing negotiations. Via has gained more understanding of the Chinese industry. Its regional fee structure is seen as a welcomed practice for reasonable and fair licensing of the standard and essential patents.

Victor Yang, CEO of Purplevine IP Group, who led the negotiation, commented, "Purplevine is glad to have assisted TCL on such a deal, and the deal's success reflects Purplevine's professional and industrial value to build a bridge connecting the licensor and licensee."
