ALB Shanghai In-House Legal Summit 2021, which was hosted by Asia Legal Business (ALB), took place in Shanghai on June 24, 2021. More than 200 in-house counsels from different industries and business elites attended the Summit. Frank Jeng, Chief International Marketing & Development Officer/Vice President of Purplevine IP Group and head of its litigation and licensing practice, delivered a keynote speech on the subject of “Cross-national IP Game in the Pandemic Era”. Mr. Jeng demonstrated data regarding cross-national IP litigation in the recent years and pointed out that more and more Chinese enterprises are involved in IPR disputes. He elaborated on the reasons for the explosion of IP litigation and explained the globalization of multi-jurisdictional battles in detail. Subsequently, Mr. Jeng analyzed in depth the processes and differences of court proceedings in the intellectual property field in the U.S., U.K., Germany and China; he highlighted the pains the Chinese enterprises are generally facing abroad and proposed appropriate measures therefor.
